2. Fuel Trim Irregularities and EFI Management
The Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) management software, calibrated to meet restrictive emission limits, generates pronounced On-Off phenomena below 4,000 rpm.
The Problem: During partial throttle transitions, delivery hesitations occur due to an excessive leaning of the Lambda map.
What to Check: Constantly check the integrity of the waterproof connectors of the Lambda sensors. The ingress of moisture or aggressive detergents during washing alters the millivolt signal sent to the ECU, accentuating delivery flat spots.
