New Bimota 2027: The KB998 Rimini is Now Euro 5+ Homologated for the Road
The handcrafted Bimota KB998 Rimini 2027 receives Euro 5+ homologation: WorldSBK experience hits the streets in an exclusive mix of Kawasaki technology and Italian design.

The new Bimota 2027 means business. The KB998 Rimini, previously reserved exclusively for track use, is taking a major leap forward: thanks to the efforts of the team led by Pierluigi Marconi, the Rimini-born supersport motorcycle is now Euro 5+ homologated, becoming a road-legal machine ready to dominate roads worldwide.
From Track to Road: The Evolution of the KB998
The success achieved in the WorldSBK championship by riders Alex Lowes and Axel Bassani with the BbKRT team has kept the spotlight firmly on the Bimota KB998. The transition to road-legal status was not merely a bureaucratic process, but a necessary technical evolution to bring the handcrafted excellence of Rimini to the hands of the most demanding motorcyclists.
"The timing for this Euro 5+ homologation is perfect," stated Shigemi Tanaka, Chairman of the Board of Bimota S.p.A. "We want to allow our customers to experience the authentic spirit of Superbike racing on the road, further broadening the appeal of the Bimota brand."
Premium Engineering and Materials
Despite its road-legal status, the 2027 Bimota retains its racing DNA intact. The chassis features a sophisticated chrome-molybdenum tubular frame, enriched with high-quality components made from billet aluminum (Anticorodal, Ergal, and Avional), including the iconic swingarm and triple clamps.
Beneath the carbon fiber bodywork lies the legendary Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR engine. To adapt it to the new Euro 5+ standards, Bimota engineers worked meticulously on:
New ECU mapping: for optimized power delivery.
Redesigned wiring: for more efficient electronic management.
Additional oxygen sensor: to ensure compliance with emission regulations without sacrificing performance.
Aesthetics: A Tribute to the Tricolore
The 2027 model year of the KB998 Rimini also stands out with a refreshed graphic design. Green accents on the carbon fiber livery blend with white and red, evoking the Italian Tricolore and paying homage to the race liveries of Lowes and Bassani.
Words from Pierluigi Marconi
Bimota COO Pierluigi Marconi commented on the achievement with enthusiasm: "Bringing the KB998 Rimini to Euro 5+ compliance was one of our main objectives. This is the ideal scenario for 2027: our customers can now finally enjoy this exceptional motorcycle not just on the track, but on any open road."
