Honda Unveils Its First Maxi-Electric Bike! Details, Specs, and 2026 Release of the New EV Fun
Honda is preparing to make its entry into the large-displacement electric motorcycle segment. On September 2, 2025, the Japanese manufacturer will officially present the production model of the EV Fun, a bike that promises to combine modern design with innovative technical solutions. The concept, previously shown at EICMA 2024, has garnered significant interest, and now the wait is almost over.
This new maxi-naked electric bike, which is positioned in the 750cc performance class, represents a crucial step for Honda and aims to compete in the mid-to-high end of the market.
Design and Innovation: The New EV Fun's Technical Specifications
The production model retains the aggressive and futuristic aesthetics of the concept, with several premium details:
Frame and Motor: The structure is based on an aluminum frame that centrally integrates the electric motor. This solution helps save weight and increase frame rigidity.
Single-Sided Swingarm: Honda has opted for a single-sided swingarm, likely derived from the Honda CB 1000 R, which offers benefits in terms of maintenance and ease of wheel removal.
Belt Drive: The motorcycle uses a toothed belt drive. Thanks to the coaxial arrangement of the motor shaft and the swingarm pivot, the belt tension remains constant, ensuring a smooth, silent ride and reducing maintenance.
CCS2 Fast Charging: Another key innovation is the adoption of the CCS2 fast-charging system, which is widely used in the automotive sector. This will allow the battery to be recharged quickly, with the possibility of reaching 80% in approximately 20 minutes, in line with the brand's four-wheeled electric models.
Display and Features: The teaser showed a large TFT display, complemented by details like DRL (Daytime Running Lights) headlights, handlebar-mounted mirrors, and a sporty riding position.
Performance and Range: The A2 Class Power
Despite its classification in the 750cc segment, the new EV Fun's power will be balanced to attract a wide audience:
Maximum Power: Peak power is estimated to be around 70 hp (51.5 kW).
Continuous Power: The most interesting figure for the European market is the continuous power, which will be 35 kW (48 hp), making the bike rideable with an A2 license.
Range: While official data has not been confirmed, a range of over 100 kilometers is expected.
Torque: As with most electric motors, the torque will be significantly higher than that of similarly sized combustion engines, ensuring instantaneous acceleration.
Release and Price: When Will the Honda EV Fun Hit the Market?
Honda has confirmed that the market launch is scheduled for late 2025 or early 2026. The model will be primarily targeted at international markets, excluding countries like India where demand for large-displacement electric motorcycles is still limited. The bike will be positioned in the mid-to-high range of the market, competing with mid-displacement gasoline naked bikes.
All details, including the final list price and complete technical specifications, will be revealed during the official presentation on September 2, 2025.
