The Challenge of New Technologies
2027 also marks a step forward for the "Dakar Future" project. For the first time, we will see a category dedicated exclusively to hydrogen and hybrid powertrains ready to compete for overall times, rather than just as experimental prototypes. The challenge will be seeing how these systems react to the thermal shifts of the Saudi desert, which can swing from 0°C at night to 30°C in the afternoon.
