Technical Analysis and Powertrain Architecture
The heart of the Letbe Punk 500 is a liquid-cooled 500cc parallel-twin engine, featuring a Double Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) layout and 8 valves. The thermal unit was developed internally by Haojin to maximize thermodynamic efficiency while remaining strictly within the legal 35 kW restriction. The power output is rated at 44 hp (32 kW) at 6,500 rpm—a low rev ceiling that delivers linear power and a robust torque curve right from 2,000 rpm, reducing the need for constant downshifting within the 6-speed gearbox.
Fuel delivery is managed by a Bosch electronic injection system, calibrated to meet the stringent emission and acoustic constraints of the Euro5+ regulation. Final drive uses a sealed O-ring chain, while the low-slung, split linear exhaust layout features a central expansion chamber to mute decibels without sacrificing the deep, throaty exhaust note typical of offset-firing twin-cylinder setups.
