The house of Akashi rejects the enduro handlebar trend and strongly re-proposes the recipe of the pure sport-tourer: protective fairing, low center of gravity, and the riding precision of clip-on handlebars. But what really changes with the 2027 update?

The Real Revolution is in the Helmet: Voice Commands Arrive

The most important technological innovation of MY27 concerns the infotainment package. The platform featuring a color TFT screen and a 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) is enriched with new integration with the Kawasaki Rideology app:

• Voice Navigation and Phone: Via the helmet intercom, the rider can now issue voice commands to set the navigator destination, make calls, or change music tracks without taking hands off the handlebar.
• Telemetry and Diagnostics: It is possible to query the bike by voice to know real-time data such as remaining fuel range, oil pressure, and maintenance schedules.

Confirmed: 4-Cylinder with 136 HP — Touring Punch, SBK Scream

No radical changes under the fairing: the powerplant remains the highly appreciated 1,099 cc inline four-cylinder, refined to guarantee linear power delivery at any RPM.

• 113 Nm of Torque: Mid-range muscle allows traveling fully loaded (with a passenger and hard cases) without continuously downshifting during passing maneuvers.
• 136 HP at 9,000 RPM: When the road opens up to twisties, the engine pulls with the grit typical of the Ninja family.
• Bi-directional Quickshifter (KQS): Standard on all versions for lightning-fast upshifts and downshifts without using the clutch.

Standard vs. SE: Which One to Choose for 2027?

For Model Year 2027, the lineup splits once again. While the Standard version already offers an aluminum chassis with a fully adjustable inverted fork, the SE (Special Edition) variant raises the bar with racing components:

• Brembo Brake Department: The SE mounts Brembo M4.32 monobloc calipers, a dedicated radial master cylinder, and steel-braided brake lines to eliminate any sign of fading even during sport riding.
• Öhlins Rear Suspension: The Öhlins S46 monoshock features a convenient remote preload adjustment knob, essential for adjusting setup to cargo weight in seconds.

Kawasaki revamps the color palette to distinguish the 2027 models at a glance:
