Road Test: Continental SportAttack 5 2026
Corner Entry: The SportAttack 5 features a "sharper" front profile than its predecessor. Lean-in is neutral but extremely fast; the bike does not tend to "fall" into the corner but precisely follows the rider's handlebar input, facilitating last-minute line corrections.
Stability: Thanks to the rigid carcass, straight-line and high-speed cornering stability are at the top of the category. Even with turbulence or high aerodynamic loads typical of modern Superbike wings, the tire does not trigger involuntary oscillations.
Braking: The support offered by the front structure under load is remarkable. During hard straight-line braking, the tire maintains a stable footprint, reducing ABS intervention. In trail braking, the self-righting tendency is almost zero.
Dry Grip: Dry grip is comparable to tires in higher categories. The 2026 BlackChili compound reaches operating temperature within a few kilometers, offering solid traction even during violent corner exits.
Wet Grip: Despite the aggressive design with few grooves on the shoulders, RainGrip technology ensures effective chemical drainage. Perceived safety on damp or cold surfaces is above the hypersport segment average.
