Technical Analysis: Engine and Transmission
The powertrain is MV Agusta's well-known 998 cc inline four-cylinder engine with radial valves, which receives the structural and electronic modifications necessary to overcome the constraints of Euro 5+ anti-pollution regulations.
Mechanical and Electronic Upgrades:
- Timing system: Introduction of new camshaft profiles to optimize valve overlap diagrams according to homologation requirements.
- Fuel system (EFI): Development of a new engine control unit mapping to improve the linearity of the throttle control (Ride-by-Wire) and increase throttle sensitivity at partial loads.
- Transmission: Modification of the internal gearbox spacing with the adoption of dedicated ratios and, specifically, the use of a shortened final drive ratio. This technical choice compensates for the tightening of emission regulations, guaranteeing greater responsiveness in acceleration and shorter recovery times.
