The Aspar Team rider will start from sixteenth position his first Moto2 race ever. Hafizh Syahrin places himself twenty-fifth

Aron Canet has become this afternoon, in the circuit of Losail (Qatar), the only Moto2 rookie rider to get into Q2. The Aspar Team rider, who has qualified directly to this second session after the free practices, has also led the first session of the day and arrives in top shape to his first race in Moto2. Canet aims to continue learning from the most experienced riders and to fight in order to finish a race in which Joe Roberts, Luca Marini and Enea Bastianini will occupy the first row of the grid.

Hafizh Syahrin has closed the second Qatar GP day with the twenty-fifth position, from which he will depart tomorrow in the first race of the 2020 season. The Malaysian rider has not been able to get into Q2 after a day in the which he has continued his adaptation to the Speed Up and together with its crew he has tried a different set-up configuration. Syahrin will start from the ninth row of the grid with the main objective of recovering positions and acquiring again the good feelings he achieved during the preseason tests last week.

16th Aron Canet 1:58.795: “During the morning I was fast, but at night the other riders have improved a lot with the excess of grip. We are going to change some parts of the set-up to try to lose that grip. I'm not fast on a lap, but as for race pace I am strong. We will see tomorrow what happens, because it is the first race of the year and also the first in Moto2 for me: we will enjoy and try to finish.”

25th Hafizh Syahrin 1:59.703: “We keep trying to understand the bike, because I don't know what happened to us, but in the tests we were faster than now. Today we have completely changed the set-up. We have looked for a different direction, I think we are improving the sensations, but in terms of position we are far away. In spite of everything, in the fifteen minutes of the Qualifying 1, I have managed to score lap times of 1:59. We have one more session tomorrow morning to try to improve a little more. We will work hard and we will do our best to finish the weekend in the best possible way.”
