What NOT to Do to Preserve Mechanics and Chassis
Avoid washing with high-pressure washers on the throttle body and handlebar switchgear: Water pressure bypasses the seals of the injection connectors and handlebar switches, causing contact oxidation and permanent ghost faults.
No maximum loads when cold: The aluminum engine block requires uniform thermal expansion. Demanding heavy acceleration before the coolant has reached a stabilized 75°C causes premature wear on the piston skirts.
Do not modify the original airbox without remapping: Installing excessively permeable air filters without adjusting the fuel delivery via an additional fueling module or remapping exacerbates the leaning of the mixture, dangerously raising temperatures in the combustion chamber.
