Chassis and Electronic Braking Management

Despite its micro dimensions, the Grom adopts chassis components derived from higher-displacement street motorcycle segments:

Suspension: Operating at the front end is a 31 mm inverted (USD) fork finished with gold anodizing in the 2026 livery. Although it is not adjustable, it features a hydraulic calibration that is firm in the first part of the stroke to limit the pitching effect during hard braking. At the rear is a central monoshock anchored directly to the square-section steel mono-backbone frame.

Wheels and Brakes: The 12-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels house wide-profile tires (120/70 at the front and 130/70 at the rear). The braking system consists of a 220 mm front disc with a twin-piston hydraulic caliper and a 190 mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper.

Active Safety and IMU: The true technical peculiarity of the Grom is the management of the single-channel ABS (operating only on the front wheel) linked to an IMU inertial platform. The control unit constantly reads the spatial attitude of the vehicle (pitch and roll), preventing the rear wheel from lifting (stoppies) during emergency braking or in the case of panic-braking on wet surfaces. This is a high-level engineering feature, extremely rare on vehicles of this displacement.
