2. Technical Engine Analysis

The powerplant represents the cornerstone of the Vision K18. It features a straight-six mechanical architecture with a record displacement of 1,800. This capacity marks a significant volumetric increase over the 1,649 of the current K-series, positioning it as the largest-displacement, multi-cylinder inline engine ever developed by the Munich manufacturer for motorcycle application.

  • Fuel System and Induction: The system implements a reversal of traditional flows. The airbox has been repositioned vertically beneath the front section. The dynamic intake ram guides airflow through 6 distinct ducts directly into a low-restriction central filter. The Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system utilizes dedicated throttle bodies managed via Ride-by-Wire, optimized for torque delivery in the low-to-mid RPM range.
  • Thermal Management and Exhaust: The evacuation of exhaust gases is handled by a split system terminating in 6 independent tailpipes integrated into the forged carbon rear subframe. The high-density LED headlight assembly incorporates a forced active cooling system to dissipate heat generated by the high-output light modules.
