3. Chassis, Frame, and Components
The chassis configuration of the EDS is engineered to achieve an optimal balance between torsional rigidity and impact absorption required for specialist off-road use:
- Frame: The load-bearing structure features an aluminum twin-spar design. This choice diverges from the traditional chrome-molybdenum steel trellis frames used by most European competitors in the enduro sector, leaning instead toward motocross-derived standards of directional precision.
- Suspension: The department is handled by Showa units. The front end features 49 mm inverted forks. Although the exact stroke specifications for the EDS variant have not yet been declared, the non-registered EDX competition model boasts 310 mm of front travel and 301 mm at the rear—figures that are expected to undergo minimal adjustments for the dual-sport setup.
- Wheels and Brakes: The vehicle is fitted with Takasago Excel aluminum rims laced to Alpina spokes in standard enduro dimensions: 21” front and 18” rear, shod with Pirelli Scorpion XC Mid-Soft tires (80/100 21 and 110/90 18). The braking hardware is a mixed configuration, featuring a Brembo two-piston floating caliper at the front biting a 260 mm Galfer disc, and a single-piston caliper paired with a 240 mm disc at the rear.
