Critical Considerations and Market Positioning
The specialized 125cc dual-sport segment, once ruled by iconic models like the Yamaha WR125R, is experiencing a clear market revival. Qianjiang's move to deploy the Morbidelli brand for this commercial rollout answers the strategic need to differentiate its product catalog from Benelli, which remains oriented toward naked street bikes and modern retros.
The design language of the T125WR is highly minimalist: a long, narrow, and flat enduro-style seat, a tapered fuel tank, and bodywork side panels shaved down to the bare minimum to give the rider unhindered body movement off-road. Compared to the standard T125 (which tips the scales at around 140 kg and is limited by a non-switchable ABS system), the T125WR targets a major reduction in overall mass through its aluminum swingarm. Furthermore, for both homologation rules and off-road capability, its dual-channel ABS system will feature an Off-road mode to deactivate the rear wheel channel.
