A Tribute to the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy
For decades, the Tourist Trophy has represented exceptional rider skill, maximum precision, and extraordinary technical performance. BMW Motorrad is deeply connected to this history: from Georg Meier's legendary victory in 1939 to the most recent successes on the S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR. The Limited Edition embraces this heritage and translates it into an exclusive and distinctive production model.
BMW Motorrad and the Tourist Trophy: Historical Milestones
In 1939, Georg Meier won the Senior TT on the BMW RS 255 Kompressor. Another major success followed in 1976: Helmut Dähne, together with Hans-Otto Butenuth, conquered the 1,000 cc Production class on the BMW R 90 S. In the modern era, BMW Motorrad has carried this tradition forward on the Mountain Course with the S 1000 RR and, subsequently, with the M 1000 RR.
Successes Since 2014
Since the introduction of the RR models in the modern era of the Tourist Trophy, BMW Motorrad has repeatedly proven its competitiveness on the Mountain Course. Michael Dunlop established himself in the 1,000 cc class with the BMW S 1000 RR in 2014. Peter Hickman has collected numerous victories in recent times, including a hat-trick in 2022 in the Superbike, Superstock, and Senior TT races on BMW bikes. In 2025, Davey Todd confirmed the performance of the BMW M 1000 RR with a victory in Superbike and other prominent results in the 1,000 cc classes. A particularly emblematic example of current performance is the absolute record on the Mountain Course, set in 2023: 16:36.115 minutes at an average speed of 136.358 mph (approx. 219.4 km/h), achieved by Peter Hickman on a Superstock-spec BMW M 1000 RR.
