Royal Enfield Guerrilla Apex 450 2026: Road Test Review, Pros, Cons, Performance, Top Speed – Everything You Need to Know

Royal Enfield Guerrilla Apex 450 2026: Build Quality

Overall, the quality is more than excellent in relation to the list price. In fact, the build quality is very high; there is nothing to complain about, and it is superior to other motorcycles in the same price range and even some that are slightly more expensive. The instrumentation is excellent—perhaps a bit small, but truly comprehensive. The fork, the quality of the plastics, the bolts, the levers, and the handlebar/pedal controls are all good. The passenger grab rail, seat, side stand, and center stand are all excellent. Special mention goes to the efficiency of the lighting system and the braking system. The exhaust system is also well-made. There is no shortage of engine maps and a wide range of accessories.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla Apex 450 2026: Ergonomics and Riding Comfort

The overall ergonomics are well-conceived; the bike is compact with a low center of gravity and a seat that is not too high off the ground. It is easy to touch the ground even for those who are 160 cm tall or shorter. The rider’s posture is upright—slightly more forward-leaning compared to the standard Guerrilla—with a narrower handlebar, but it is not tiring. The hands wrap comfortably around the grips with controls correctly spaced and easily reachable. The knees do not assume a particularly sharp angle.

The passenger space is equally valid, featuring an excellent seat, correctly spaced footpegs, and easy-to-reach grab handles. Vibrations are practically absent, and the comfort offered by the seat is excellent. Stability and mirror visibility are good, and the readability of the instrumentation is excellent. Engine heat is not noticeable at all. Thanks to low fuel consumption, the tank guarantees at least 300 kilometers of range. The only drawback is the small flyscreen, which fails to alleviate wind pressure above 110 km/h.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla Apex 450 2026: Suspension

The suspension is calibrated with the right mix of stiffness for sportier riding and comfort for absorbing road bumps. They are consistent in their operation and of good overall quality. Load transfer during hard braking is reduced; the traditional telescopic fork works well and is well-tuned for this type of bike—neither too soft nor too rigid. It is an excellent compromise. The shock absorber is tuned to match the fork, again providing a good compromise between sporty road riding and comfort. The bike's suspension is well-balanced for both touring and sporty road use, while also absorbing rough asphalt effectively.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla Apex 450 2026: Suspension Set-up Guide

The fork is not adjustable, while the rear shock is. We recommend increasing the spring preload by two steps for two-up riding. You can increase it up to 4 steps for two-up riding at full load.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla Apex 450 2026: Braking and ABS

The braking is powerful yet easily manageable. The front brake lever is very light to the touch and easily modulated; the rear brake is powerful and easy to use. It brakes truly well, and it is not difficult to trigger the ABS. In any case, safety and stopping distances are valid and competitive for its category.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla Apex 450 2026: Engine, Performance, and Top Speed

The engine is no longer a novelty, following the Himalayan 450, where it proved to be reliable and competitive in performance. It is a very successful engine with a full, unmistakable sound, excellent torque and mid-range thrust, no vibrations, and it revs well up to the redline. The gearbox is also precise and fast; you could shift without using the clutch because it is so fluid and light. Mechanically quiet, it starts easily without hesitation. The clutch is always excellent: precise, light, and easy to modulate.

The top speed is reached in a short time and at the maximum engine RPM. The top speed is 160 km/h, which we reached on flat ground after a short run-up. The engine runs smoothly from low revs and provides a nice push right away; you don't need to "stretch" the gears—it is fast and climbs regularly to the redline. There is no shift in rhythm; it has a regular, flat, but far from boring power delivery. It always pushes with vigor and performance that won't make you miss other competing engines. The engine braking is also good. It is not necessary to pull the gears to the limiter because it is better to exploit the torque, almost as if it were a larger displacement engine. This way, you can go fast without the stress of always keeping the engine at high revs.

It is perfect in the city and very fun on winding roads and in the mountains. It doesn't suffer on long transfers either, because it easily maintains 130 km/h. On roads full of curves and short straights, it can be a real surprise, just like on long mountain descents. Overall, performance is excellent and competitive with the best rivals.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla Apex 450 2026: Gearbox Functionality

As mentioned, the gearbox is precise, fast, easy to operate, very fluid, and light. It is an excellent gearbox in absolute terms and a benchmark not only for the category but also for much more expensive motorcycles. Finding neutral is also easy. The clutch is good and light. Overall, everything is excellent.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla Apex 450 2026: Riding Qualities, Handling, Stability, and Safety

It feels like you’ve been riding it forever—it is that easy, intuitive, safe, and fun, as well as effective and competitive on twisty roads. It is perfectly at home in the city, where it runs fast and safe, proving to be a valid alternative to a scooter. There is little to add: the name "Guerrilla" is perfectly suited for a bike that battles the chaotic traffic of a metropolis—better than a scooter, better than any other two-wheeled alternative. Maneuverable, turns on a dime, well-braked, and always with a ready engine; it eats traffic for breakfast.

Outside city walls, the bike is fun, and you appreciate its performance—which is more than excellent, as long as there aren't long straightaways. The bike climbs quickly to 130 km/h, and only after 140 km/h does it slow down slightly before reaching 160 km/h. Extremely maneuverable, it is the classic "bicycle with an engine," very fast at entering curves and changing direction on narrow mountain roads. Well-balanced, it is certainly an excellent bike—not difficult for a beginner to ride, but also valid for more experienced riders who will be able to squeeze out all its positive characteristics. It doesn't have the performance of street maxi-nakeds, but it is still a fun bike and, on certain routes, very effective.

On fast sweepers, the bike runs precisely and securely, as it does at top speed, where it runs like it's on rails. Ultimately, the only limit is long straightaways. On the highway, even two-up, it travels quietly and without problems at 130 km/h, with a good reserve for safe overtaking. In the mountains, it continues to convince, especially on narrow routes where its handling and ease of riding shine. Even downhill, it runs fast, precisely, and competitively. In general, its performance is more than excellent: an easy, intuitive bike that is tremendously effective in the city and on narrow routes, and fast on every occasion. In the right hands, it is a "tough nut to crack" for many other bikes. For its type and displacement, it does much more than one would expect.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla Apex 450 2026: Fuel Consumption

In our test, we had an average fuel consumption of about 32 km/liter (approx. 75 mpg), with peaks of over 35 km/l, while we never dropped below 20 km/l when riding at the limit. It is difficult to do better.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla Apex 450 2026: Conclusions – Pros and Cons

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla Apex 450 2026 is a bike of excellent overall quality and valid performance—a competitive bike in its category. Easy, fun, and safe to ride, it also knows how to be fast. It is a bike to use every day: in the city, for commuting, for weekend outings with friends, and for a bit of "spirited" riding in the mountains. It is also excellent for the passenger and remains fun even when riding two-up or touring. It is an excellent bike, exceeding expectations.

It differs from the standard Guerrilla with a slightly more forward-leaning posture, a slightly stiffer suspension set-up, a narrower handlebar, and street tires. These are small changes that have enhanced its sporty road capabilities, clearly differentiating it from its predecessor. It is an excellent bike not only for those with a limited license or those just starting out, but also for those who want an easy, inexpensive, practical, fun, and effective vehicle in every situation. The value for money is very strong.
